- The Kits in the Library of Things can be reserved or placed on hold for library accounts in good standing at the Lillian DesMarias Youth Library.
- The Kits in the Library of Things will not be loaned or sent in delivery to other Missouri Evergreen libraries.
- Only one kit in the Library of Things Collection may be checked out on an account at one time.
- All kits from the Library of Things Collection must be returned to the Lillian DesMarias Youth Circulation Desk during business hours, NOT the book drops. Please do not return these kits to the Main Branch.

o In kits where a piece is pivotal for the kit to function, the replacement cost of the whole kit is required. The library staff will inform the borrower or parent/guardian of the borrower of any charges to their account.
o A list of the replacement costs of Things is maintained by the Library and is available upon request.
o The responsibility to protect against loss is the borrower’s or parent/guardian of the borrower. - As with any item from the kits from the Library of Things and all other library materials, use care when handling and packing.
